Race went fine. Just tired after working 12.5 hours overnight shift. Should have had some breakfast and coffee. Warmed up 2+ miles 13:04. Could tell my legs were not awake. Did a lot of strides and drills to try and wake them up.
First 1000 meters is flat, then you get about 1200 meters downhill. After that one hill about 200 meters before going down for another 200. Then the last .42 miles is slightly uphill.
Ran first 1/2 mile in 2:24. flat to downhill next 1/2 mile in 2:29. Next downhill 1/2 in 2:27. I just could not get my legs going. 82 degrees and in the sun didn't help.
Next half mile with the good uphill I managed 2:29. So I'm strong.
Last .48+ slightly uphill in 2:25.
12:15 total. I pretty much ran even 4:55-4:56 pace the whole way.
I managed about 3.6 miles. I did not feel good for the next hour. I thought I was going to puke.
Wore my heavier racing flats so I wouldn't beat my legs up too much.
